The Mega Manila subway is the biggest single project in the “BUILD BUILD BUILD program” of the Duterte administration. It is highly sought after and renowned to be the answer to traffic jams in the streets of the metropolis. This multibillion-peso railway system will be the first ever underground transportation facility in the Philippines. It is expected to start partial operations with 3 stations (Mindanao Avenue, Tandang Sora, & North Avenue) by 2022 and full operations with a total of 15 stations by 2025.
This 36-km train required quite a lengthy preparation as well, construction of the project has long been planned. It has been quite a while since the government started the search for several firms that shall form a consortium that will design and construct this railway system and now, everything is set and ready to go.

Ground breaking for the Mega Manila Subway Project has commenced and the very first ever underground train system in the Philippines is officially underway!
