MANILA, Philippines – Aviation player PhilJets Group is set to increase its fleet this year as it looks to expand operations.

“Our objective is to reach 10 aircraft in our fleet this year to provide the relevant quality service for our customers,” PhilJets chairman and CEO Thierry Tea said in a statement.

PhilJets started the expansion of its fleet through the addition of a new business jet, a Cessna Citation XLS+, which could seat eight passengers and be utilized for local and regional flights.

It is also set to take delivery of a brand-new Bombardier Challenger 350, a super-midsize business jet within the first semester.

The additional jets mark PhilJets’ entry into the jet segment.

Aside from having new jets, PhilJets is also set to take delivery of two new units of the Airbus H130 and a twin engine helicopter by the last quarter of the year.

With the expansion of fleet, PhilJets is also aiming for revenues to increase to P150 million this year from a little over P90 million last year.

“We are in an industry that requires huge resources in a lot of aspects, from human capital to assets and equipment but also in terms of infrastructure, systems and if we do not grow further, it is challenging to be sustainable, because technology evolves very fast and the market also,” Tea said.

Increasing its fleet is also expected to support PhilJets’ goal to contribute to the development of business aviation in the Philippines.

The PhilJets Group is engaged in aviation services, aircraft management, tourism, and geophysics mining, as well as disaster relief, rescue and medical evacuation.

Its clients include general and business aviation firms, commercial airlines, maintenance repair and overhaul companies, government agencies, tourists, and private individuals.
