MANILA – Procter & Gamble plans to expand its presence in the Philippines, banking on robust consumption that drives one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies, an official said.
Growth will be driven in part by products that target women, P&G president for feminine care Fama Francisco told ANC.
P&G’s feminine products in the Philippines include Whisper napkins, Pantene shampoo and Olay beauty products.
Sales of feminine products are expected to track the growth in the Philippine economy, Fama said.
Fama said P&G would keep all “gainfully employed” workers even as US President Donald Trump is expected to adopt a protectionist stand and Manila tightens rules on contractual labor.
The dollar’s strength is the biggest risk to P&G’s operations in the Philippines as this could drive up costs but product prices will be kept “competitive,” she said.
