MANILA, Philippines – Thailand’s largest petroleum company PTT, Public Co. Ltd. has opened its largest service station in the Philippines, located along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in Concepcion, Tarlac.

Operated by local unit PTT Philippines Corp., the two-hectare PTT-SCTEX station is currently on soft opening with an eight-pump gasoline station, a convenience store, a five-star public toilet and PTT’s signature coffee shop, Café Amazon.

PTT Philippines president and CEO Sukanya Seriyothin said the company’s biggest station will soon be fully operational with the expected opening of several restaurants and shops along the rows of non-oil businesses that are being constructed at the north-west side of the property.

“You could expect a grand opening soon once the construction of all these non-oil establishments are completed,” she said.

Patterned after the “Life Station” of PTT in Thailand, the company said the SCTEX station will offer a variety of services apart from the gasoline station, making it a one-stop hub with restaurants, convenience store, branded shops, coffee shops and automated teller machines, among others.

Aside from PTT-SCTEX station, Seriyothin said more PTT stations are also set to open this year.

PTT Philippines presently has 111 stations operating mostly in Luzon and Cebu.

Earlier, the company president announced it is ramping up its five-year capital expenditure plan from P3 billion to P5 billion for the expansion of retail network to 300 and Amazon Cafe brand for the 2017 to 2021 period.

This year, the oil firm is looking to open 20 more stations, bulk of which is still targeted in Luzon, PTT marketing director Thitiroj Rergsumran had said.

Meanwhile, the oil firm has ongoing studies for the possibility of penetrating the Mindanao market.
