MANILA – A new point-to-point (P2P) bus service from Alabang to the Ortigas-Mandaluyong area will be launched on Tuesday, December 20, in time for the holiday rush, the transportation department said Monday.
The RRCG Transport non-stop bus service will bring passengers from Alabang Starmall to Robinson’s Galleria and Starmall Mandaluyong, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.
The Alabang-Ortigas route service will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 a.m. at an introductory fare of P80. Aside from free Wi-Fi service, the bus ride also features an on-board acoustic session during the holiday season.
The premium P2P bus service is a public utility vehicle sub-category created by the DOTr in efforts to decongest heavy traffic in major roads.
“The more private car users use public transportation, such as the P2P, the lesser the number of cars there are along the roads. Thus, we can expect to see an improvement in travel time with less congestion,” said Transportation Assistant Secretary for Road Mark De Leon said.
RRCG Transport has existing P2P routes from Alabang Town Center to Greenbelt 1, and Ayala South Park to Greenbelt 5.
