House committee to inspect proposed common station

MANILA – The House of Representatives Committee on Metro Manila Development will inspect the location of the proposed common station that will connect MRT-3, LRT-1 and the upcoming MRT-7 in Quezon City on Wednesday.

The panel is scheduled to meet at the North Triangle at 9 a.m., said Quezon City representative and committee chair Winston Castelo.

Castelo said there is a possibility that Congress may withhold funds for the project if the design is found unsatisfactory.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez earlier raised issues to transport officials on the proposed design and location of the common station between two shopping malls.

Alvarez also said the planned P2.8 billion budget for the construction of the common station is up for review in Congress.
