MANILA, Philippines – Following the launch of the Clark to Cebu service yesterday, Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to offer seven new routes outside of Manila within the first quarter, in support of efforts to decongest the country’s main international gateway.

“We are introducing new domestic routes to allow travelers to reach their desired destinations without the need to transit in Manila. Passengers get to experience the unique PAL brand of service even on short flights,” PAL president Jaime Bautista said.

PAL’s Clark to Cebu service which departed at 7 a.m. yesterday, will be made available daily starting March 26.

On Feb.1, PAL will begin offering the three times weekly Clark to Davao service, with the flight scheduled to depart at 10:50 a.m. The service will be offered four times per week starting March 26.

On March 26, PAL will also launch flights from Clark to Puerto Princesa and Coron.

All of PAL’s new flights out of Clark will use the 199-seater Airbus A321 jet, while the Clark to Coron service will use the 56-seater Q300 airplane.

PAL started operating flights from Clark last Dec.16, through the Clark-Caticlan service, in response to the government’s call to airlines to use the Clark International Airport as an alternative to the congested Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Last Jan.1, the flag carrier launched its first international flight from Clark to Incheon in South Korea.

PAL is also set to launch new flights from Cebu to Puerto Princesa, General Santos, Surigao and Coron on March 26.

The Cebu-Puerto Princesa service will be available four times a week, while the Cebu-General Santos and Cebu-Surigao flights will be offered three times a week; and the Cebu-Coron service will be made daily.

Flights to Puerto Princesa and General Santos will use the 156-seater A320 aircraft, while flights to Surigao will use the 76-seater Q400, and those to Coron will use the Q300.
